Ashton Court 2000
15-16 July
the £2 festival
This page is about a Festival that goes on in a place called Ashton Court in Bristol, I went there for the first time this year and it was amazing! I have never seen that many people smoking weed...Ever!!!
On entering the site, which now costs £2, the people gave us these cool stickers so we could go in and out of the site without paying again...

The festival began in 1974 and since then Thousands of Stoners have been going there. During the festival there is a really good atmosphere, one of peace and relaxation. 99% of the people who go there are nice people who are willing to give you a cigarette for a spliff, we only had two of our own cigarettes but we managed to smoke about 20+ with other people's cigarettes!!! Another thing that struck me about this ganj fest is the people who go around the site selling 'Truffles', these truffles contain either hash, skunk or other drugs such as 'Herbal speed', which is quite good!
The Ashton Court fesitval is on of music and culture but from my expereience it was on of Marijuana!!! The bands that played this year were of a good standard, its just a pity that the style and genre of their music was such shit!
Anyway Around the area there are loads of cool shops, including a doughnut shop and a japanese Noodle bar, which was nice! plus loads of 'hippy' shops selling rizla bongs and pipes!
The main attraction...musically, was a band called DAY ONE, who were shit! But thats just my taste, there were many other bands including Top Loader, Crashland and Screen(?). But the main reason i wrote this page was ganj so lets not talk about the shite music lets talk abou drugs, I didn't buy any weed while i was there, but i would think that there will be someone there who will be willing to sell you some, another recomedation is the space cakes or truffles i also found this guy selling lumps of Opitates, these were lumps of left-over bits of the marijuana plant with added opitates (like heroin) i didn't try these but i was regreting not trying them later!
On the way out of the festival (there is no camping) which was about half ten 'cause thats when everyone leaves! anyway, On the way out of the festival thousands of people started a kind of mexican wave but with screams! It started at the back and went right to the front, it was cool, the next part was over the Cliffton Suspention bridge, the bridge was rocking as hundreds of people walked over it, it was quite scary! But the bridge looks quite beautiful in the dark as it is all lit up!
That was basically my day at Ashton Court! I recomend anyone who lives within a 50 mile radius of Bristol to go next year and experience the HASHton Court festival for themselves! - happy toking!
